Vacation Loans

Amazingly the end of term is coming up fast, so I am writing to let you know the end of term arrangements in the Library. We are going to do things a bit differently this term. There will be no end of term book recall.

From 9am on Thursday 15th March any book or DVD you take out will be on vacation loan, and will not be due back until Saturday 28th April.

On the 15th the library staff will renew all current loans so that they are transferred to vacation loan rules (i.e. not recallable and due back on 28th April).

If you do not need a book over the vacation period that you currently have on loan please do return it as normal.

Wigglesworth overnight loan books remain as overnight loans, please do not take them on vacation (they get travel sick), hopefully the additional copies available as normal loans will help this year.

Books cannot be recalled over the vacation period, so if you need a book that is currently on loan you should recall it in the next couple of days to ensure it is available to borrow by the 15th March.  You can recall books that are on loan by logging in to  iDiscover, please see the following guidance: recalling books.

Library Access

The Library remains open 24 hours a day throughout the vacation period, although due to staff holiday there may be a few days when the Library is unstaffed during normal working hours. You can borrow and return books throughout this period using the self-service machine. Please note that usual library etiquette still apply during vacation!

Library Fines

Fines for Magdalene College loans  will be added to your College bill for this term. Once the Library has forwarded the fine totals to the College Office you should notice the fine is removed from your account in iDiscover (or marked up as paid).

If you have any questions about the end of term arrangements please let us know by popping in to see us or e-mailing library@magd.cam.ac.uk . As always please let us, or your JCR/MCR library rep, know your feedback about the library.
